Android App Publishing

We take a finished Android app and prepare it for Google Play: signed bundles, versioning, listing assets, testing tracks and release management, handled with engineering discipline.

Overview

The release engineering between done and live

A working app is not yet a publishable one. Google Play expects a signed Android App Bundle, a sensible versioning scheme, a current target API level, and a store listing with assets in the required formats. We prepare each of these, configure Play App Signing with your upload key, and check the build against Play policies before it is submitted.

Releases then move through internal, closed and open testing before a staged production rollout. We monitor pre-launch reports and Android vitals, adjust rollout percentages, and handle rejection notices by identifying the cited policy and preparing a corrected submission. All work happens in your Play Console, under roles you grant.

We prepare and submit releases inside your own Play Console in line with Google Play policies, and approval of every release remains solely Google's decision.

What's included

Everything covered, end to end.

The specific work our Android Publishing engagements include — scoped to what your business actually needs.

  1. 01

    Build preparation

Release configuration, signed Android App Bundle generation, version code and name strategy, and checks for target API level and debuggable flags.

  2. 02

    Play App Signing

Enrollment in Play App Signing with an upload key kept under your control, plus documentation for safe key storage and future key rotation.

  3. 03

    Store listing assets

App icon, feature graphic, phone and tablet screenshots, short and full descriptions prepared to Google Play's format and content requirements.

  4. 04

    Testing track management

Internal, closed and open tracks set up with tester lists, release notes and promotion rules so builds advance only after they have been checked.

  5. 05

    Release management

Staged production rollouts guided by crash rates, ANRs and pre-launch reports, with the option to halt a rollout quickly if a problem appears.

  6. 06

    Rejection handling

Analysis of rejection or policy emails, a clear explanation of the cited issue, and a corrected build or declaration prepared for resubmission.

Key benefits

Why it matters for your business.

01

Builds that pass technical checks

Signing, versioning and API level are verified before upload, so submissions are not blocked by preventable technical errors.

02

Your keys stay yours

Upload keys and Play App Signing remain under your control, with documentation that protects you if team members change.

03

Lower-risk launches

Staged rollouts expose a new version to a fraction of users first, limiting the impact of any issue that testing missed.

04

Calm, documented rejection responses

When Google flags an issue, you get a plain explanation and a corrective plan instead of guesswork or repeated resubmissions.

Who it's for

Built for teams like yours.

If any of these sound familiar, this service was designed with you in mind.

How it works

A clear path from first call to finished work.

  1. 01

    Build audit

We review your project's release configuration, signing setup, permissions and target API level against current Google Play requirements.

  2. 02

    Packaging and signing

We produce a signed release bundle, configure Play App Signing and set a versioning scheme that scales with future releases.

  3. 03

    Listing preparation

We assemble listing text and graphics to specification and align them with the app's actual functionality and declarations.

  4. 04

    Testing tracks

The build moves through internal and closed testing, with pre-launch reports reviewed and issues fixed before production.

  5. 05

    Staged release

We submit for review and, once approved, roll out in stages while watching stability metrics, then document the release.
